A Title sequence is when films present their credits of production, cast and crew members through credits. It is usually accompanied by sound and images to help the audience become familiar with characters, and it sometimes gives an insight to what the film is about.
Title sequences usually vary in style depending on what the film is about. The style almost foreshadows what the film consists of and what the genre and tone of it is. Plain title sequences such as a white typeface on a black background usually does not cost much money for studios, however the simplicity of it can also portray certain messages. Although other types of title sequences such as moving images or animation are much more costly, these are great metaphorical depictions of what the film is about and gives a head-start to viewers who are unaware of what they are about to watch.
